Early Childhood Programs/4-Year-Old Kindergarten

The School District of Pickens County offers four-year-old kindergarten programs to students who demonstrate need.

The School District of Pickens County 4K Program provides activities that help to meet the child’s following needs: (1) educational development; (2) social well-being; (3) nutritional needs; and (4) health needs in order to prepare the child for K5.

Behavioral Health Services

Trained clinicians work within the classroom environment with identified students having difficulty with developmental or behavior issues. In some situations, clinicians may conduct home visits to assist with parenting skills and encourage home-school communication.

Homework Centers

Homework centers serve students in various elementary and middle schools in the district. The purpose of these programs is to provide assistance to students with their homework assignments and to provide tutoring to students who need individual assistance. An important goal of this program is to help students develop good study habits early. Contact the local school for specific hours and costs.

Extended Day Care

The extended day care program operates each day Monday through Friday at various elementary schools. Parents pay a fee for this service. If interested, contact the local school.
